Vintage 1950s Black Pleated Midi Dress – Metal Zippers | XS/S

An absolutely beautiful vintage 1950s black dress with such a timeless, elegant silhouette. This is one of those wonderful older vintage pieces that has been remarkably well preserved and still presents beautifully decades later.

The dress features a softly structured bodice with a high neckline, short cuffed sleeves, a defined fitted waist, and a wonderfully full pleated skirt. The simple all-black design makes it incredibly versatile while still having that unmistakable polished 1950s silhouette.

The dress features vintage metal zipper closures, including a back/upper zipper and an additional side zipper to make dressing easier. Both zippers were tested during inspection and are currently functioning properly. Because these are original older metal zippers, they should always be handled gently and never forced.

There is no surviving brand, size, or fiber-content label, which is not unusual for a garment of this age.

CONDITION — PLEASE READ

This dress presents in beautiful vintage condition, particularly considering its age. During inspection, we did not observe any major condition issues that detract from the overall appearance of the garment.

One minor area to note: along a small portion of the lower back hem/edge, there is subtle age-related color variation where the black takes on a very faint muted berry/reddish undertone in certain lighting. This is subtle and does not appear as a prominent red stain or large contrasting area. The dress continues to read overall as black when worn.

We are disclosing this specifically so the buyer is aware of the garment’s exact vintage condition before purchasing. Please review the listing photographs and any provided close-up of this area carefully.

The dress also appears to have originally had a belt, which is no longer present. BELT IS NOT INCLUDED. The dress can be worn beautifully without one or styled with a belt of your choice.
