Vintage 1940s Pink Depression Glass Oval Serving Platter – Floral Cherry Vanity & Perfume Tray | 11” × 8”

An absolutely beautiful vintage pink Depression glass oval platter dating to approximately the 1940s, featuring an intricate pressed floral and cherry motif, scalloped edges, and the dreamiest soft blush-pink glass.

Depression glass has such a special history. Originally produced during the Depression era and into the early 1940s, this colorful pressed glassware made decorative pieces accessible to everyday households during an incredibly difficult period. Pieces were mass-produced in beautiful colors, including the now-iconic pink and were often sold inexpensively or even offered as promotional premiums. Today, surviving pieces are collected for their nostalgic beauty, patterns, colors, and connection to everyday life in the early 20th century. 

Although originally designed as a serving piece, I especially love this one styled as a vanity tray. At approximately 11” × 8”, it is such a lovely size for arranging perfume bottles, jewelry, a powder compact, or other little treasures without overwhelming your vanity. Condition: Beautiful vintage condition overall. There is one very small chip present. It is extremely subtle, not sharp to the touch, and does not take away from the beauty or display of the piece. As with antique and vintage Depression glass, minor manufacturing irregularities and signs of age can be expected. 

A truly romantic little piece of history that looks just as beautiful today filled with perfume bottles as it would have looked in a home generations ago.
